Satellite Field:

Select the satellite for which you wish to perform Sun Outage Calculations. The sun outage calculations are dependent on the satellite's orbital location (satellite longitude).

Input Field:

Specify how the location of the receive site is specified.
Either a city may be selected from the list of available countries and cities, or the latitude and longitude may be specified directly.

Country Field:

The country for the receive site for which look angle computation is requested.
This is used if the Input Type is specified as "Country/City."
NOTE: Only countries that are visible to the available satellites are included in the country list.

City Field:

The city for the receive site for which look angle computation is requested.
This is used if the Input Type is specified as "Country/City."
NOTE: Only cities that are visible to the available satellites are included in the city list.

Latitude Field:

The latitude at the receive site for which sun outage computation is requested.
If the Input Type is specified as "Country/City," the latitude is automatically filled in; if the Input Type is specified as "Latitude/Longitude," this value is directly specified by the user.
Units: Deg N
Range: -81.4 < Latitude < 81.4

Longitude Field:

Specify the longitude at the receive site for which sun outage computation is requested.
If the Input Type is specified as "Country/City," the longitude is automatically filled in if the Input Type is specified as "Latitude/Longitude," this value is directly specified by the user.
Units: = Deg E (To specify values in deg W, enter a negative value.)
Range: -180.0 < Longitude < 360.0

Band Field:

Select the band for which you wish to perform sun outage calculations. This is an optional field. If selected, the band's downlink center frequency is used to fill in the "Dlk Freq" field.

Dlk Freq Field:

The frequency at which the sun outage calculations are to be performed. If the band is specified by the user, this field is automatically filled in based on the center frequency of the desired band, or the user may specify a desired frequency.
Units = MHz
Range = 1,000 MHz – 40,000 MHz

Antenna Diameter Field:

Specify the receive antenna diameter in meters.
Units = meter
Range = 0.10 to 100.00

Season Field:

Spring:
Select Spring if you would like to compute sun outages which occur near the Northern Hemisphere's vernal equinox, which occurs near March 21. (This is Southern Hemisphere's autumnal equinox) The actual dates for sun outage depend on the other input parameters.
Fall:
Select Fall if you would like to compute sun outages which occur near the Northern Hemisphere's autumnal equinox, which occurs near September 22. (This is Southern Hemisphere's vernal equinox.) The actual dates for sun outage depend on the other input parameters.

Year Field:

Select the year for which sun outage is requested.

Ephemeris CheckBox:

Check this box to generate sun outage degradations based on the ephemeris data available
